All of the Updates You Need to Know
Facebook constantly looks for ways to update their network and make it more user-friendly for its members. At its F8 conference a few weeks ago, Facebook announced some exciting updates to look forward to in the near future, including Instagram and new desktop apps for Mac and Windows. Many of these changes will come in handy for continuing to build your brand.
Instead of placing the most importance on the news-feed, Facebook will be redesigned to reflect groups and events more than anything else. This means it will benefit your business to get specific so that your followers will know where to look for more information regarding your brand. By creating groups, it will encourage engagement from your followers because they will want to remain in the loop with the information you have to offer them.
During his keynote speech, Mark Zuckerberg made it clear that he believes “the future is private.” He admitted that despite their security breach not too long ago, he is serious about this and wants to push a “private social platform” through all of its apps including Messenger, WhatsApp, Instagram, and of course Facebook.
INSTAGRAM FOR BUSINESS – QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
Instagram is pulling away from the focus on quantity of likes and trying to place emphasis on the quality of the posts. This is big news for small businesses, for now the focus won’t be completely on how many likes your posts receive, or the lack of likes in some cases. Followers will interact with your post simply because they enjoy the content as opposed to only noticing the number of likes it has.
Since Instagram’s focus will now be on quality, their new “create mode” will help your business generate authentic content, such as the quiz option in stories. By using the quiz feature, you get your followers involved with your brand by answering questions. They will become more knowledgeable about the services you offer as well refer a friend to get involved with your account.
INSTAGRAM SHOPPING TAG
On top of their use of creativity, Instagram is implementing the ability to purchase items through the app from a “shopping tag.” By simply clicking on the tag, it will bring you to check out page, and just like, it’s yours. This feature is currently only available to a handful of celebrities and athletes, but that could change in the future.
Facebook understands that maintaining a website can get expensive. That’s why they are allowing users of WhatsApp Business to post their entire catalogue right on the WhatsApp page. This will greatly improve the growth of small businesses, for now the entirety of their products will be available for viewing and purchasing purposes.
