“Go Live with Guests” – Twitter’s Live-Streaming

Twitter has officially announced its live-streaming option named “Go Live with Guests” which gives users the ability to have audio-only conversations that their followers can listen to if they want. As stated by Twitter:

“Conversations on Twitter can take place in many ways, and our latest update to live video brings another dimension to how you can discuss what’s happening. Starting today, your Tweets are going #IRL and now you can host a live video and invite up to three people as guests. Those you allow to join can be heard by everyone and can drop off at any time.”

While this is an interesting new feature to the social media platform, it feels a little dated. Multiple apps have released something similar and have even expanded on it. Instagram and Facebook Live already allow split-screen videos where you can see who is talking. The audio-only function is underwhelming and might need something else for it to really be successful.
