Jennifer Aniston Joins Instagram

For those of you who are fans of Jennifer Aniston, odds are you likely saw her “break Instagram” last week when she first joined the social media platform. Aniston ended up setting a Guinness World Record for the fastest Instagram account to reach one million followers in just five hours and 16 minutes. As of today, her follower count is at 15.3 million followers, and seemingly keeps growing. Pretty soon, there’s no doubt that her account will join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Selena Gomez, and others.

Aniston’s first picture she posted was a photo of her and the cast of FRIENDS, a television show that Aniston starred in for ten seasons. That picture alone received 14 million plus likes. The photo featured Jennifer Aniston herself, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer. FRIENDS revolves around six friends in their 20s and 30s who lived in Manhattan, New York City, and people couldn’t and still can’t get enough of it. No wonder Aniston’s picture of their reunion received so many likes.

Jen’s Qualms with Social Media

Aniston complained about social media in the past, hence why it took her so long to join Instagram. She finds emojis annoying, and prefers when people write out what they want to say instead of using symbols. She also tires of the constant notifications it brings, but decided to go ahead and give Instagram a try anyway.

The star even admitted to a fake Instagram page, or more commonly referred to as a “Finsta.” She explained this during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as her “stalker account.” After having her stalker account for a while, she decided she was officially ready to become a member of Instagram.

Aniston has already proven to be an Instagram expert. Starting with her FRIENDS selfie and next a funny video about her “breaking” the Internet. Her follower count will continue to rise and we can be sure to expect more epic posts from her.
