LinkedIn Added A New Featured Section!

LinkedIn has announced a new feature that will change the way users interact on the app. They are soon adding a ‘Featured’ section on every LinkedIn profile. While there was a short section to list your best work and content, this Featured section will have its own separate tab.

New Additions

Social Media Today reported that “the Featured section allows you to showcase samples of your work to people who view your LinkedIn profile. This is a great way to provide evidence of your skills and experience.” The important thing to note is that users can add so much to this new addition. Some of these add-ons include pictures, external links to portfolios or websites, videos, and even articles.

This update has been highly requested and will have a huge impact on business owners. Now they can display their best products directly on their page, which leads to more engagement. Rather than users visiting profiles and getting redirected to other sites, they can now view everything on one single page.

There is a twist though. LinkedIn stated that “you must have already authored and published a post or article on the LinkedIn platform to be able to add it to your Featured section.” In addition to that, once you add something to your featured section, you can remove it, edit it, delete it, and even re-order it.

LinkedIn Marketing

With this update, every business owner needs to decide what content they want to display. Is my business more catered towards articles or multimedia? Advertising on LinkedIn is essential for any company that desires success. “Why would people want to follow you if your profile is stagnant and boring?” Always consistently add to your profile. After receiving a lot of engagement on a single post, your followers will be expecting new content from you!

Once you add the Featured section to your profile, don’t forget to engage with your followers! Thank people for sharing your articles and promoting your work. Find out which posts your followers most react to, and give them what they want. Stay tuned for this new update from LinkedIn, because they are taking digital marketing to the next level!
