Facebook Top Fan and IG Analytics

The updates never stop coming, and we want to make sure you can get a handle on everything before the next one rolls around. Read on to learn more about our ever-changing technological world.

Facebook

Facebook Adds Targeting Option for ‘Top Fans’ on Organic Posts

By targeting top fans, it’s a way of thanking them for their continued business and support, and it gives them access to whatever it is you want to send to them–whether it’s exclusive content or just a thank you note, it personalizes their posts and makes them feel as though they are a big part of your business’s success. This also ensures that they continue to work with you because they feel apart of something bigger than themselves, and ultimately, a community. Consider this a tip for you to help grow your business.

That being said, you must have a good number of top fans to even be able to target them. Your page must have more than 10,000 followers, and in order to set up your page so that you can target them, you must turn on ‘Top Fans’ in your Facebook Badges section. If you are one of the lucky people who do have top fans, you can check out the list of who they are in the ‘Community’ tab and see where your posts would be targeted.

Facebook has had restrictions when it originally released top fans, but they have seemingly lowered the bar for who can be considered a top fan. Now, the list is larger and should attract a bigger community of people. Let us know if you have top fans, and if so, how targeting them helps your business.

Instagram Marketing 2019: Analytics

It’s no secret that social media updates occur almost daily, and Instagram is no different. In order to have a successful Instagram page, you need to take a step back and figure out what is and is not working for you, and what’s providing you with results. An easy way to do this is to measure your on-platform analytics and continually checking on what’s engaging your audience.

As you can see in the image above, Instagram users found that the platform’s native analytics data for strategic planning is only somewhat useful. While Instagram offers analytics options such as gender, age, location, etc., users might be looking for something more in-depth, as per their responses to the usefulness of the current analytics system.

The service that people requested the most, however, is the expansion of the data period to enable a more in-depth trend tracking. Though it is nice and useful to have a list of valuable current trends, it could greatly benefit users to be able to see changes over longer periods. With this information, it would be possible to create a better and more optimal platform strategy, especially with a more automated system.

We can always expect more updates, so always be on the lookout for them!
